The Adams County District Court in Othello is accepting applications for a full time Probation Officer. Candidate will be responsible for developing and/or assisting in the development of an adult probation program for the Adams County District Court. Duties include implementing, coordinating, and managing the daily operation of the adult probation program, including supervising clients on probation to ensure compliance with court orders. Candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the program through the development and the administration of program functions, policies and procedures, as well as the research and securement of future funding.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or a related field and a minimum of one (1) year direct work experience in adult or juvenile probationary casework. The required experience may be substituted with other work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the required duties.
Candidate must be bi-lingual in Spanish/English languages and successfully pass a criminal history background check. Satisfactory completion of Misdemeanant Probation Counselor Academy within six (6) months of hire required. Position is Range EE1 of the Adams County Exempt Employee Salary Schedule with a beginning salary of $41,155.56 - $45,247.56 DOE.Applications are available at the Adams County District Court Office, located at 425 E.
