THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND VIRTUAL MEETING TO LEARN ABOUT THE ADAMS COUNTY HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN

Adams County Emergency Management is inviting the public to attend a virtual meeting to learn about the Adams County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP).

An HMP looks at how the County can become more resilient to natural hazards such as wildfires, flooding, earthquakes, drought, and severe storms. The HMP will provide an overall strategy of programs, projects, and measures aimed at reducing the adverse impacts of natural hazards on the communities within Adams County. The agencies participating in the planning process will use hazard data to identify specific projects that can mitigate against the risk of natural hazards, such as retrofitting water and sewer systems, adding generators to critical facilities, or modifying structures with fire resistant materials.

During the virtual meeting, the HMP project team will share the results of the risk assessment and provide information about natural hazards that pose a risk to Adams County. The meeting will be held on February 2, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. using Zoom.
