POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT:
DISTRICT COURT ADMINISTRATOR
The Adams County District Court is accepting applications for a full time Court Administrator, covering both Othello and Ritzville sites. The candidate will serve as an at-will employee and at the pleasure of the two District Court Judges. The position involves a high level of responsibility, confidentiality, complex administrative and supervisory functions, including daily court operations, supervising six employees at two locations, juror issues, website management, fiscal management, and the establishment of policies and procedures.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, minimum five (5) years supervisory work experience, three (3) years direct work experience in Court operations and/or office administration, and two (2) years direct bookkeeping, payroll, and/or accounting experience, valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of current insurance with acceptable driving record and acceptable background record. Required skills for this position include the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical standards (including on personal time), proficiency in various computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, BIT, JIS, JABS, DISCIS, ETP, DOL/Drives, and ACCESS, knowledge of management principles and supervision, including personnel administration, and knowledge of the judicial processes as they apply to record keeping of legal documents, Adams County policies and procedures and District Court policies and procedures. Administrators are subject to mandatory continuing education requirements per ARLJ 14, including attendance at the Court Administrator Academy within 12 months of employment and a minimum of 15 hours approved continuing education every 3 years. Bilingual abilities, Degree in Judicial Administration, Public or Business Administration desired.
The District court Administrator's position is Exempt EE5 of the Adams County Courthouse pay scale with a beginning salary of $ 5,306-5,572/month DOE (Step 1-2). Initial step placement at time of hiring is dependent upon prior relevant experience and qualifications. Fully paid employee benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life. Adams County participates in the Washington State Retirement Fund.
