   The Adams County Assessor’s Office is currently accepting applications for Deputy Assessor/Appraiser. In this role, you’ll be responsible for appraising real property in Adams County. Persons are responsible for contacting or making site visits to all residential, commercial, and new construction property in accordance with property tax policies in Washington state and within Adams County including some of the following: Examines and organizes new building permits and inputs new construction listings into the data base. Persons are responsible for the segregation of short plats and long plats, boundary line adjustments, combining properties and other related areas.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, and two (2) years’ experience in general construction and/or real estate preferred. Persons must have the ability to successfully complete required training courses and certificates and complete the IAAO Course 1 of Real Property appraisal within one (1) year of hire. A valid Washington State Driver’s License is required.
 
This is a 40 hours/week, benefited position which is currently classified at Range D of the 2023 Adams County Employee Salary Schedule with a range of $21.34 - $27.95. Initial step placement at time of hiring is dependent upon prior relevant experience and qualifications. Fully paid employee benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life. Adams County participates in the Washington State Retirement Fund.
